Mark Bruce Company are delighted to present a short selection of work including Green Apples.
Choreographed by Mark Bruce to the music of the White Stripes, Green Apples is a commanding duet performed in the round. Separated from the performers by a rope, the audience is drawn into a visceral and immediate experience as the dancers circle themselves and each other in a space of physical intensity and magnetic energy.
Mark Bruce is a multidisciplinary artist. He is a choreographer, director, composer and musician, filmmaker, editor, writer and photographer. He has choreographed, directed and danced internationally for over 35 years, working with Rosas, Bern Ballet, Ballet Black, Introdans, Gibson/Martelli, Probe, and DJazzex among others. He founded Mark Bruce Company in 1991 and has created 18 original evenings of work for the company including Dracula which won the Sky Arts South Bank award for Dance, the National Dance Award for Best Male Dancer for Jonathan Goddard as Dracula, and the award for Best Independent Company. Recent work includes Macbeth, Return to Heaven, Phantoms and Frankenstein. The company was nominated for Best Mid-Scale Company at the National Dance Awards 2023.

Spearheaded by award-winning choreographer and dancer Seeta Patel, the Company creates live stage performances which focus on classical Indian and contemporary dance and dance theatre. Performance is supported by Audience Development, Outreach, Advocacy and Talent Development, which is a cornerstone of Seeta Patel Dance’s vision.
IMPERMANENCE Directors Roseanna Anderson & Joshua Ben-Tovim have built up a catalogue of countless short dances over the last decade, performing in every sort of space imaginable, stemming from a desire to get dance in front of people - whether they asked for it or not! On this special evening they'll pull a few of their favourite numbers out of the bag, look out for Schubert, Gertrude Stein, Satie, Elvis, Naomi Klein, Les Paul and Marlene Dietrich!
Following the performances which will be about an hour, there will be an interval followed by a panel discussion on both nights with industry professional discussing the state of dance today and how a new venue can support the sector in Bristol and nationally.
